A REPORT ON THE HEALTH PROCESSION BY THE MICHAEL DE-GRAFT MEMORIAL FOUNDATION HELD AROUND KORLE BU TEACHING HOSPITAL

On August 24th, 2024 the MDMF Team organized a procession on the streets of Korle Bu, near the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, to raise awareness about Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The event commenced  at 11a.m. The team engaged pedestrians, vendors, and residents, educating them on the symptoms, causes, and treatment options for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Pamphlets were distributed to ensure the message reached a wider audience. Volunteers actively interacted with people on the streets, answering questions and encouraging them to seek regular medical checkups.

A minor challenge was navigating through the busy streets, which occasionally slowed down the procession. Despite this, the team remained committed and successfully completed the walk. Approximately 200 people were directly engaged during the procession.

The procession was impactful and succeeded in creating greater awareness about Hodgkin’s Lymphoma within the Korle Bu community.
