On December 21st, 2024, the MDMF Team organized a health procession in Tema Newtown to create awareness about Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
The procession commenced at 8:30 a.m., with 23 participants navigating through busy streets, markets, and homes. Some Volunteers held signs displaying critical information about the disease, while others distributed pamphlets to community members.
Volunteers highlighted the signs of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and encouraged regular health checkups. Residents showed interest, with several asking questions and requesting more information about the disease.
A minor issue arose when some vendors were initially hesitant to engage due to their busy schedules. The team resolved this by keeping interactions short and efficient, ensuring no one felt inconvenienced.
By the end of the procession, an estimated 220 people had been reached directly.
The Tema Newtown health procession was a success, contributing to the foundation’s mission of spreading awareness and educating the public about Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
